Tweed Coast Physiotherapy has been servicing the Tweed region since 2007. We offer practical, easy to understand health guidance, rehabilitation and treatment for almost all physical complaints. From minor ankle sprains to multiple spinal trauma we can tailor a physical health solution for you, starting with ‘hands on’ treatment to alleviate pain and building towards specific exercise strategies so that you can begin to move again. We work alongside local Doctors and consult within three of the largest medical centres in the region. Our main practice is located in the centre of Tweed Heads and Coolangatta, literally fifty metres from the beautiful beaches of Greenmount, Rainbow Bay and Snapper Rocks. Whether your passion is simply having a roll-up at bowls, enjoying the surf or playing professional sport we can help keep you moving. Tweed Coast Physiotherapy caters for all pay types including Medicare Bulk Billing of Careplans, Private Health Insurance- preferred provider BUPA, Medibank Private and HCF, Workcover, Thirdparty Insurance and Veteran Affairs. We also perform home visits and offer regular pool therapy at The Laurie Lawrence Pool, Banora Point, and gym programs at SNAP Fitness in the Tweed Mall shopping centre.

**Medicare Plans, DVA, WorkCover and Third Party Insurance are billed directly and incur no out of pocket gap fees however do require a Doctor’s referral

Troy Ditton B Ex Sc B Edu M Phty PhDc

Qualifications – Bachelor of Exercise Science, Bachelor of Education, Master Physiotherapy (Griffith University) and Doctorate of Philosophy Candidate (Australian Catholic University)

Physiotherapist Troy has over ten years experience in general practice treating neck and back pains, sciatica, headaches, shoulder/elbow/wrist/hand complaints, hip/knee/ankle/foot complaints, replacement and repair surgery, vertigo, TMJ dysfunctions, and neurological disease. In addition Troy is currently studying the highest qualification in physiotherapy, a PhD on topic ‘The longer term effects of using four wheel walkers’. His special interest is in healthy ageing and all things concerning mobility and the use of walking aids. A major focus is on reducing aid reliance, improving independent balance, mobility and posture, and maintaining quality of life.

Troy has a diverse sporting background having competed in two different sports at a national level. In Badminton he has won an Australian University Games Gold Medal and in Men’s short board surfing also a Silver medal. As a result of commitment to university sport he was awarded the Griffith University Scholarship for contribution to sport and a number of Full Blue sporting awards. Prior to becoming a physiotherapist Troy trained and worked as a Senior High School Physical Education and Biology teacher.

Maichel Ghobrial D Phty B Kin-At

Qualifications Doctor of Physiotherapy  (Bond University) and Bachelor of Kinesiology / Athletic Therapy  (University of Manitoba)

After graduating as an athletic therapist in Canada and becoming head therapist for many national and international sports teams, Mike decided to study physiotherapy to expand his knowledge and skills set. Subsequently he travelled to Australia and graduated from Bond University with a Doctorate in Physiotherapy. During the program he completed extensive training across many settings including public hospitals, community services, and private practices. Mike is also in the process of publishing a research article concerning the biomechanics of water sports. He is heavily involved with team sports himself and plays recreational basketball and soccer during free time. From a physiotherapy perspective his interests include treatment of acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries throughout all age groups. In particular he is passionate about promotion of individualised exercise programs to help people get back to full potential, including the use of pool exercise.

 

Jill Latta B Phty

Qualification Bachelor Physiotherapy (University of Queensland)

 After graduating from the University of Queensland Jill received extensive experience in hospital work such as orthopaedics, obstetrics and general outpatients. At this time two daughters entered the story and she decided to purchase a private physiotherapy practice at Tamborine Mountain. Following on from this a baby boy came along to complete her family and for the next twenty years she ran her clinic up on the mountain servicing the local population. Now with over 35 years of experience Jill still loves her job and thinks physiotherapy brings the right combination of treatment and exercise therapy to help people recover from all sorts of challenging situations. Jill has a special interest in neck, back and headache pain and is a wonderful addition to the team at Tweed Coast Physiotherapy.


Corey Farrell B Phty

Qualification Bachelor Physiotherapy (University of Queensland)

Hailing from North Queensland, Corey’s first experience of physiotherapy was as a patient receiving treatment for numerous injuries whilst training for representative soccer and atheltics (100m, 200m, 400m) through-out High School in Mackay, it was these sessions that sparked a passion for a career in physiotherapy.

Graduating from the University of Queensland in 2013 and now with over 5 years of experience in Aged Care/Community/Musculoskeletal physiotherapy, Corey first started working around the South Brisbane region providing aged care and community services.
However a passion for surfing soon uprooted him from Brisbane bringing him to the beautiful Tweed Coast in 2014.
With a keen interest in sports physiotherapy Corey has provided services for local and representative teams, elite athletes and weekend warriors in Brisbane/Gold Coast/Tweed Coast regions and most recently as the team physio for Mens and Womens Open divisions at Coolangatta Tweed AFL club. His main interests are acute/chronic musculoskeletal injuries, Sports Specific Rehabilitation & Injury Prevention, Falls prevention & Hydrotherapy. He also has interests in Mixed Martial Arts, Rugby Union/League & American Football.
